Is Laser Vision Correction Painful?

This is probably the question which we hear most.

Although intuitively, when you hear the word surgery or laser vision correction, or any type of medical procedure for that matter, one often associates them with pain or discomfort.

However, contrary to popular belief, Laser Vision Correction Surgery is virtually pain free.

At the Goldberg Centre for Vision Correction we only perform the LASEK method, not to be confused with the Lasik method, as there is no incision made in your eye. All we do is lightly brush the cornea of your eye which takes less than a few seconds to remove some of the outer cells to allow the laser to correct your vision.

The total surgery time is only 20-30 minutes and the laser is only on your eye for 10-60 seconds!

In the days and weeks following your surgery it is normal to feel dryness, discomfort and the feeling that something is in your eye.
We provide patients with drops to help with healing and comfort.
