Congratulations on making the decision to have Laser Vision Correction and thank you for considering the Goldberg Centre. We would be happy to answer your question in greater detail during a free consultation but I will share a bit of information with you here that I hope will help answer your question.
As you already may know, there are different types of Laser Vision Surgery methods. The method that we perform exclusively at The Goldberg Centre is known as Lasek. (not to be confused with Lasik). The reason why we do the Lasek method is that it is the safest and most minimally invasive procedure for Laser Vision Correction. Unlike Lasik, with our method, Lasek there is no incision made and the actual contact with your eyes lasts just a few short seconds. In addition the recovery time with Lasek is a lot quicker than Lasik.
The final thing worth mentioning here is that we also include a DNA Avellino test as part of our process to ensure you are an ideal candidate for Laser Vision Correction surgery. At Goldberg Centre your safety is our priority and so if this test is positive then there is a slight chance you could be at risk for long term affects from laser surgery and so in that case we would not proceed to do the surgery. Many other clinics do not perform this extra test.
